So I bought one of those "memory foam" mattress toppers yesterday ... but as soon as I got into bed I knew I was going to hate the thing. And then I slept for ten solid hours. :)
Cool! One piece of advice: after you unseal the shrink-wrap it comes in, unfold it and lay it out on the balcony or somewhere for a few hours, so the "chemical" smell will dissipate before it goes in the bedroom. Not a big deal, but it did bug me some yesterday.
The motel in Fort Benton has th' memory mattress covers too...I found it more restful than I'd ever imagined...'course, I'm always more relaxed there too...but sleep was noticeably better overall.
At a high-end electronics shop today, I overheard an earnest young salesman explaining all about computers to a new customer: "You can use three different operating systems on a computer -- Apple, HP, and Google."
So for those of you who haven't heard, the engine on my poor old Toyota finally gave up the ghost last week. This is the car I got to replace it -- a new Subaru XV Crosstrek. And of course I had to get it in orange. :)
interesting... i've always wondered about those.
ReplyDeleteThe weirdest thing is changing positions after you've settled in ... at first, I almost felt trapped inside the foam.
ReplyDeletethe main reason i have not tried it is worry about the heat in summer...
ReplyDeleteI'd wondered about that, too, but the new designs claim to be "temperature neutral." I guess I'll find out next spring ...
ReplyDeletewhat kind did you get? brand/model, I mean.
ReplyDeleteoooo good to know. Been debating about getting one for ours.
ReplyDeleteSusan Dennis I just got the one Costco sells ... Novaform brand, 2-1/2 inches thick. If you try one, I'd like to know what you think!
ReplyDeleteoh! wow. love costco for stuff like that. so i may just be giving it a go and will absolutely report! thanks!!

ReplyDeleteIt's just hard to visualize a rugged, backwoods fellow like you using any kind of mattress topper, much less one made of memory foam. ;-)
ReplyDeleteScott Murdock Hey, even us rugged, backwoods types like to be pampered once in a while. :-p
ReplyDeleteJennie Goff That's exactly how I felt at first, too. But after a couple of nights, now, I'm hooked on the thing.
