Last hike of 2011!

In December 1983, a few weeks before the Mac launch, we made a quick trip to New York City to meet with Newsweek, who was considering doing a cover story on the Mac. The photo was taken spontaneously as we walked around Manhattan by Jean Pigozzi, a wild French jet setter who was hanging out with us at the time. Somehow I ended up with a copy of it. My editor begged me to include it in my book, but I was too timid to ask for permission, especially since IBM was still making CPUs for Apple at the time.

A few months ago I started switching my domain name registrations away from GoDaddy as the domains came up for renewal ... and today I decided I might as well move the remaining ones out of GoDaddy all at once. It felt pretty good to do that, and not just for the SOPA thing.

So the mailman brought me a small package from the folks at Zen Magnets a few days ago, and now I'm totally hooked ... which makes me more of a geek than ever, I suppose.

So I just asked Siri to give me the current temperature, and she responded by saying "Brr!" ... but she vocalized it as "bee arr arr." (For the record, it's 9 below outside.)

After watching those great old Laugh-In episodes yesterday, today I'm moving on to the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Pat Paulsen for President!
