Yep, those cogs are always working ... sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse. :)
Charlie's utterly fearless when it comes to hiking. I actually wasn't going to go down that cliff because I was worried about him -- but he plunged right ahead, actually slipped a few feet, reassessed the situation and chose a new route ... and he was at the bottom before I had the chance to call him back. Contrast that with his sense of utter panic when he sees a three-year-old human tottering his way!
Ahhh, definitely 100% dog! What a good boy. I'm sure he would adapt to 3 years olds pretty quickly, especially when he realizes that they often mean food! ;-).
Bless his heart. You can just see the cogs working behind those intelligent eyes....
