So for those of you who haven't heard, the engine on my poor old Toyota finally gave up the ghost last week.
So for those of you who haven't heard, the engine on my poor old Toyota finally gave up the ghost last week. This is the car I got to replace it -- a new Subaru XV Crosstrek. And of course I had to get it in orange. :)
It's odd that there's more than one person in my circles who have bought one of those this month. I think we are seeing the start of a gay trend here ...
ReplyDeleteLove it. Bright colors & durable goods have always been a bit scary for me but that just shouts "fun". Unless you need to flee raptors, then green would have been a better choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks. There's way too much grey in this world, I think ... especially when it comes to cars. Life should be brighter than that!
ReplyDeleteWoah! Nice car and a bit of a step up.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the family bud :-)
ReplyDeletewhy orange? 70's nostalgia?
ReplyDeleteAt my age, Alan, I figured a bright color was the only way to stop losing my car every time I parked it somewhere. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at the same car and yes, also in orange. It is a very nice orange and the other colours are far too neutral. I've test driven it and it works for me although it could sure use a turbo for more power. My VW Passat with a 1.8 has more power.
ReplyDeleteI'm very pleased with the car so far, Glen, and happy with my choice. And seriously, the orange is a great color! You just have to expect a little juvenile snark from the Haters. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I'm happy that you left your old Toyota as it is tired of your services. And now something better. Great!
ReplyDeleteI saw one of these today - actually quite a handsome color and a good looking car.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alan. I've definitely fallen in love with the thing ... and for a crossover it's proving to be surprisingly good at off-roading. I had lots of fun with it up in the Snowcrests last weekend ...
