P.S. Netflix is EVIL! Pass it on.
I'm pretty sure that no one I know is still here, but I thought I'd make a last post anyway, just for the heck of it.

Huge change to their pricing structure today -- they now require separate plans for streaming and DVD rentals. I either need to cancel something, or my bill goes up 60% ... and that means something's getting cancelled.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up. For me the calculation is what are the netflix prices, compared to a premium cable channel. The selection on netflix is only slightly better.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think I'll at least cancel the streaming, and maybe the whole thing. Their streaming selection is actually pretty pitiful, at least when it comes to the sort of stuff I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you haven't gotten curmudgeonly in your old age, Dave.
ReplyDeleteIn Canada Netfilx doesn't even offer dvd rentals
ReplyDeleteYep, Phil ... I think that's definitely true. That's actually going to be a problem with Netflix, though, because while they had the DVD rental market pretty well sewn up, there's lots of competition for downloads.
ReplyDeleteThat's the main reason I decided not to invest in Blu-rays at all -- the format's going to be forgotten long before it ever achieves critical mass.
the problem is netflix HD files are huge and when internet providers are putting on bandwidth caps and people are getting huge bills because of it here.
ReplyDeleteYeah, if I download something as big as a movie, I want to be able to keep it. So I'll dump the Netflix streaming and look for other download sources. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI may keep the Netflix DVDs coming for a little while, but I imagine those days are numbered ...
like I said netflix dvd's in Canada do not exist
ReplyDeleteWeird ... you wouldn't think those little DVDs are too heavy for the sled dogs to carry up there. :-p
ReplyDeletewe have sled dogs? who knew :P we had a dvd mail service called zip.ca but I think it died off.. well it might still be around
ReplyDeleteI heard they were raising their prices 60 percent? Ha!!! They can say goodbye to all their bizness.
ReplyDeleteIt's true, David ... and they're losing at least some of my business, that's for sure. :/
ReplyDeleteI wonder why such the increase... Oh well, I used Red Box when I was back and like that better.
ReplyDeleteCan you see my picture posts?
@David: Yes I can! At last!!
