Between 1972 and 1977 nearly 70 photographers were employed by America’s fledgling Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to photograph the condition of the country’s environment. The result was a project of immense breadth and scale that has not been exhibited in public since its 1970s heyday. A small but fascinating selection is now on show at the National Archives in Washington, DC http://econ.st/16ZTblp

  2. Some of the other shots definitely speak to the era.  And the colors are amazing -- you can tell they were shot on film!
