I'm experimenting with a Chrome extension that allows one to automatically copy photos from Facebook to Google+ ... hence the 6-year-old shots from Spain that you see below. :)

unbelievably clever. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I have a lot of other photos I was intending to post ... just never decided where they should go online. Maybe this will be the place ...
ReplyDeleteWhoa, just tried this and now it's moving everything in iPhoto to Picassa, which I didn't expect. Will it move Aperture next? Guess that's okay since I've been meaning to do more offsite backup anyway, although I'm not sure they're all suitable for public consumption. And, there are so many of them that if the site crashes, it'll be my fault.
ReplyDeleteErica, that's very weird! I don't use iPhoto, but the extension definitely didn't find my Aperture stuff ... just the specific Facebook albums I selected.
ReplyDeleteAnd be cautious about making that your only backup, because I think Google+ downsamples its images.
Of course, now I'm curious about what might not be suitable for public consumption! :-)
It found Aperture. It seems to be storing on Picassa, but not displaying as albums for all to see. I'll have to figure this out later when I have more time. Now it's showing me cropped thumbnails of hundreds of faces to identify so it can tag them, including presidents on Mt. Rushmore, which is making me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing it now... Let's see what happens.
ReplyDeleteIt better not delve into my albums on my hard drive from aperature or you guys are gonna be in some surprises! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work anyway. I had over 1300 photos on facebook and it stopped at 99. So oh well, gues it does not work.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the thing definitely chokes after a certain point ... maybe depending on the connection speed? I'm just doing one album at a time from now on ...
ReplyDeleteAnd David, I was really looking forward to those "surprises"! ;-p
ReplyDeleteHa! NOT gonna happen. LOL!!!
