It looks like Diaspora is finally sending out large numbers of invitations

It looks like Diaspora is finally sending out large numbers of invitations ... as if FB and G+ weren't enough. I signed up, although D* is the very definition of "lost cause." Very nice UI -- too bad there's no one to share it with!

(If anyone wants an invite, let me know.)
