Took the new Subaru four-wheeling in the Snowcrest Mountains last weekend ... this is probably my favorite shot from the trip.

  1. Looks like fun.  I was going to get one but in the end, I ordered a Forester.   It should be here in a week or so.   I may regret not getting the Crosstrek but new turbo 2.0 on the Forester caught my attention.

  2. Congratulations on that Forester, Glen!  I decided I wanted to go for the gas mileage on this purchase, and I do like the Crosstrek's styling ... but a turbo would be pretty sweet.  :)

  3. So did I Mark. I was looking for better mileage and regular gas. So much for good intentions.

  4. Hey, a car is a big enough part of a guy's life that good intentions have to be balanced out with a little fun!

  5. I agree totally.  Both the CrossTrek and the 2.0 Forester had the fun factor but the 2.5 Forester did not.   Too bad they didn't offer the Forester in Shocking orange!

  6. They made a limited-edition WRX in that shade of orange this year ... and if I'd had a trust fund, I would have bought one!

But with a little luck, maybe Subaru will put a turbo in the Crosstrek someday ...

  7. I'm sure they will.   It is selling really well and fits into a niche that nobody else is in right now.   The only complaint I've read about the car is that the 2.0 is adequate but not "inspiring".   A turbo would be a perfect match for this car.

  8. Yep, even an extra 20 hp or so would be pretty nice for the Crosstrek, but the feel of the car is really improving as it breaks in, and as I've figured out the CVT and the paddle shifters.  No complaints overall.

And yeah ... it seems to be quite the sales hit!  But Subaru in general is really on a roll lately.
